Obituary of Jim Arnold
James “Jim” A. Arnold, 43, of New Vienna, passed away on November 24, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Dyersville.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, December 2, 2018, at Kramer Funeral Home, in Dyersville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday December 3, 2018 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Luxemburg with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Noah Diehm will officiate.
Jim was born on February 26, 1975 the son of Mary (Wiskus) Arnold and the late Loras Arnold. He graduated from Western Dubuque High School in 1993.
Jim was a member of Farm Bureau, the Dubuque County Cattleman’s Association and supporter of Delaware County Cattleman’s. His passion was farming, spending the last 20+ years doing what he loved most. He was able to fulfill his lifelong dream of owning his farm and building his home. Jim enjoyed sharing his knowledge of farming with his nieces and nephews, always having a buddy seat for them to ride along.
Survivors include his mother Mary Arnold of Luxemburg, 3 sisters: Kathy (Avery) Crary of Garnavillo, Sue (Rick) Lawler of Epworth, and Debbie (Matt) Puetz of Bernard, 4 brothers: Kenny (Emily Merges) Arnold and Jeff (Tami) Arnold of Luxemburg, Charlie (Jenny) Arnold of Dyersville, and Bob (Julie) Arnold of Petersburg, nieces and nephews: Heather and Brook Crary, Hannah and Alex Lawler, Kaci (goddaughter) and Kolten Arnold, Madalynn, Tyler and Kaitlynn Arnold, Abby and Nathan Puetz, and Dalton, Trenton and Kirstyn Miller, and his aunts and uncles.
Jim was preceded in death by his father Loras in May of 2007.
And on the eighth day, God looked down on his planned paradise and said, “I need a caretaker.” So God made a farmer.
Jim’s family would like to thank the New Vienna Fire Department and First Responders.
