Obituary of Austin Michael Maas
Austin Michael Maas was born into the arms of angels on November 9th, 2018, at 3:57 am. Austin measured in at 6 inches and 1.9 ounces and is sleeping peacefully as one of God’s angels.
A private funeral service will be held at Kramer Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 14th at 1:00 pm with Reverend Paul Baldwin officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Luxemburg. Kramer Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.
Austin was born at Finley Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa, to parents Michael and Sara Maas after passing away in utero due to unknown causes. Austin brought incredible joy to his parents and sisters and extended family and he will continue to live on in the hearts of those who love him.
Austin is survived by his parents, Michael and Sara Maas, and his sisters, Sophia Maas (4) and Rylee Maas (2) of Epworth. Austin is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Sandy and Dale Prier of Hopkinton; his paternal grandparents, Patrick and Jody Maas of Dubuque, his uncle, Nick(Nicole) Maas and their daughter Anna of Rickardsville, his aunt Lynn (Matt) Manternach, and their children Lacey, Derek, Darrin of Rickardsville, his aunt Kelly (Brandon) Marsh, and their children, Gabe, Logan and Wyatt of Dubuque; his uncle Russel (fiancé Jessica Sadler) Prier of East Dubuque; great-grandparents, Marilyn and Jim Maas of Dubuque, great grandfathers, Clyde Bradley of Dubuque, Eugene Prier of Dyersville, and great grandmother Elaine Willenbring of Luxemburg.
He is preceded in death by his great grandparents, Lucille Prier, Daniel Willenbring, and Donna Bradley.
Memorial donations for Austin Michael Maas will be dedicated to purchasing a CuddleCot for area hospitals to use for families dealing with infant loss. The CuddleCot is a cooled bassinet, which allows the parents, siblings, and family and friends to spend more time with the deceased child. This bed was available at Finley Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa, and helped the family to grieve during this difficult time.
