Obituary of Veronica Marcella Hagemann
Veronica M. Hagemann, 89 of Dyersville, formerly of New Vienna, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018, at Oakcrest Manor, Dyersville.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville where a parish vigil service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Wednesday, September 26th from 9-9:45 a.m. at Kramer Funeral Home prior to funeral services.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2018, St. Boniface Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Ralph Davis will officiate.
Veronica was born July 20, 1929, in Garnavillo, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Veronica (Berns) Hoeger. She was the second youngest of eight children and received her education at St. Joseph’s school in Garnavillo. Veronica married John W. Hagemann on May 7, 1952, in St. Joseph’s Church in Garnavillo. She enjoyed reading, gardening, crocheting, sewing, coloring, crossword puzzles and was a master at cooking & baking. Veronica took great joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren & great grandchildren.
Surviving are her five children: Mary Hagemann, Kevin (Diane) Hagemann both of Dyersville, David (Marlene) and James (Deb) Hagemann both of New Vienna, Donna (Rick) Kratz of Peoria, AZ, nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, brother: Gerald Hoeger of Garnavillo, in-laws: Inez Hoeger of Prairie Du Chein, WI, Clarence Meyer of Monona, Walter (Irene) Hagemann of San Diego, CA., Inez Hagemann of New Vienna Julius (Betty) Hagemann, Eileen Hagemann both of Dyersville, James Hesselmann of Niwot, CO, LaVerne Hagemann of Tequesta, FL., Kathleen Hagemann of Dubuque; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John in 2013, a son, Philip in infancy, siblings: Herman, Vincent, Martha, Lambert, Loretta, Hoeger, Irma Meyer, in-laws: Urban (Grace) Hagemann, Charles, Joseph and James Hagemann, Cindy Hagemann, Joan Hesselmann, Fritz (Delores) Bierman and Edwin Hagemann.
A special Thank You to Hospice of Dubuque, especially Edna Scherbring and to all the wonderful caregivers who work at Oakcrest Manor for the loving support you gave to Veronica.
