Obituary of Mildred A Schlichte
DYERSVILLE, IOWA
Mildred A. Schlichte, 90, of Dyersville, Iowa died Thursday, June 14, 2018, at Stonehill Care Center, Dubuque, Iowa.
Visitation will be held 2-7 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2018, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville. Visitation will continue Monday, June 18 from 9-10 am at Kramer Funeral Home prior to funeral services.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2018, St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville, Iowa with burial in church cemetery. Rev. Dennis Quint will officiate.
Millie was born May 22, 1928, in Petersburg, Iowa the daughter of John and Catherine (Nurre) Klostermann. She married Alvin Schlichte on May 20, 1948, in Petersburg, Iowa. Together they raised their family and farmed near New Vienna/Bankston until moving to Dyersville in 1987. Millie’s faith was very important to her. Her biggest pride and joy are her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her children: Kathy (Marty) Helle, Dianne (Ted) Kluesner, Deb (Loras) Digmann, John (Kelly) Schlichte, Ann (Todd) Kelleher all of Dubuque, Jeff (Teresa) Schlichte, of Peosta, Dan (Mary) Schlichte of Cedar Rapids, Margie Ament and Jim (Susie) Schlichte, both of Dyersville, and Pat (Donna) Schlichte of Hopkinton,
24 grandchildren: Jennifer (Dan) Smith, Chris (Michelle) Helle, Nick Helle (fiancé Alexandra), Greg (Ally) Schlichte, Brad (Shannon) Schlichte, Tim Schlichte (special friend, Thao Nguyen), Jamie (Chad) Saville, Nicole (Joe) Schmitt, Megan Freiburger (fiancé Nick Crow), Katie (Tony) Gerdis, Ellie Ament (special friend, Ted Tranel), Jill (Ben) Anderson, Michael (Jill) Schlichte, Julie (Joe) Gansen, Wes (Melissa) Digmann, Jonathan Digmann, Steven Digmann (special friend, Rachel), Kevin (Sara) Kloser, Lauren (Austin) Lloyd, Emily Kelleher, Kelsey and Karley Schlichte, Natalie and Aubrey Schlichte, 3 step grandchildren: Jason (Maria) Millage, Jill (Kevin) Luders and Jerry (Bonnie) Thompson; 28 great grandchildren, 6 step great grandchildren; sisters: Jenny Conrad of Dyersville, Sr. Marian Klostermann, OSF of Dubuque,
in-laws: Ardella Schlichte of Edgewood and Alma Willenborg of Dyersville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alvin in 2009, son-in-law, Don “Pooch” Ament,
