Marie was born on October 31, 1922 in Petersburg Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Rosa (Bruggeman) Osterhaus. She married Milton "Mickey" Domeyer on April 14, 1948 in Petersburg, Iowa. Marie was a strong woman who loved the Lord and prayer was an essential part of her life. She enjoyed her years cooking at Petersburg school and cooking for family and friends. Marie loved spending time with her family, gardening and tending to flowers. She enjoyed the Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes. When she was 86 while living at Ellen Kennedy Living Center and using her walker, she loved to visit the hospital and help the "elderly". Survivors include her children: Karen Walker of Vancouver, WA., Wayne Domeyer of Lone Grove, OK. and Glenn Domeyer of Dyersville, Iowa, 1 grandchild, Stacey Walker of Portland, OR., siblings: Laverne (Kathlene) Osterhaus of Petersburg, Virgie Domeyer of Manchester, in-laws: Roland (Timmie) and Peter (Clarice) Domeyer of Dubuque, James Domeyer of Manchester, Laverne "Bud" (Ellen) and Donald Domeyer of Petersburg, Jack (Shirley) Domeyer of Holy Cross, Mary Lou Gravel of Dyersville, Doris (John) Burlage of Monticello, Rita Domeyer of Dyersville, Glady Osterhaus of Dyersville, Rosie Klein of Manchester and special friend, Nancy Kruse. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Mickey in 1982, siblings: Julanda Koch, Lester, Ambrose, Raymond, Omer and Gene Osterhaus and numerous in-laws. Friends may call from 3 - 8 p.m., Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa where a parish scripture service will be held at 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 24, 2011 at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, Iowa with burial in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery. Petersburg, Iowa. Officiating will be Rev. Robert Gross. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
