Sherri "Hageman" Lensing posted a condolence

Dear Inez and Family,
You have my deepest sympathy. 20 years ago my friendship with Ed started with the help of Toby Bockenstedt and his love of genealogy and history. Over those years, I was able to meet with Ed and get the grand tour of his old vehicle, home and home place, New Vienna cemetery, and even the VFW. Toby and Ed also made many trips to Winneshiek county to visit and talk history. I loved hearing many stories of his childhood and about his service time. Ed would even call around the holidays just to check in with his "Hageman" connection up north. We truly had a connection. He was one of those individuals you cherish. I will miss him, rest in peace.

I was very sad to hear about Eddy and send my deep sympathy to his family. I know he will be missed by many people because of his nice, outgoing personality.
I met Eddy through my husband, Bob Singsank, and my parents enjoyed talking to Eddy when they visited every year from California. Eddy and my dad shared a special bond over their Army war service, a topic they discussed whenever they saw each other.
Eddy was friendly, warm, and welcoming to us whenever we saw him and he always remembered to inquire about my parents which I really appreciated. My dad passed away a year ago, but my mother wanted me to be sure to pass on her condolences to your family.
With sympathy, Joan Singsank
