Obituary of Arthur N Lansing
Arthur N. Lansing, 89, of Dyersville, passed away Monday, January 15, 2018, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester.
Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville. Visitation will continue Saturday from 9-10 am at Kramer Funeral Home prior to funeral services.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2018, St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, Iowa with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Dennis Conway will officiate, Deacon Roger Riesberg will assist and Rev. Carl Ries and Rev. Richard Gaul will concelebrate.
Art was born November 25, 1928, in Dyersville the son of Lawrence and Amanda (Gaul) Lansing. He attended Country School until the 8th grade. He married Bernice Derga on June 11, 1960, in Worthington, Iowa. He owned and operated Lansing Lime and Rock. Art enjoyed wood working, tinkering, fixing things and especially spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Bernice, 4 children: Linda (Mark) Vorwald of Worthington, Lois (Steve) Winter of Marion, Larry (Janice) Lansing and Loras (Vicki) Lansing, both of Dyersville; 8 grandchildren: Matthew (Megan) Vorwald, Valerie Vorwald, Katie Lansing, Kelsey Lansing, Jackie (Alex) Sellner, Jacob, Joshua and Jenna Lansing; 3 great grandchildren: Annalyne and Wyatt Sellner and Amelia Vorwald; siblings: Catherine (Hugo) Engelken, Jerome (Mary Margaret) Lansing and John (Rita) Lansing, all of Dyersville Verna Rose (LeRoy) Bries of Guttenberg, and William (Joan) Lansing of Worthington; in-laws: Leon (Betty) Mullis of LaPorte City, Alvera Weber and Mary (Bob) Morris, both of Manchester, Grace Neuzil and Jane Hahn, both of Dyersville, John (Kathy) Derga of Worthington and Carol Derga of Racine, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents and parents-in-law, Albert and Marcella (Leyendecker) Derga, siblings: Wilma Mullis, Joseph (Ruth) Lansing, Fr. Augustine Dreiling OSB; in-laws: Ralph Weber, Herb Hahn, Richard Neuzil and Albert Leo Derga.
