Obituary of Mary Jane Feldman
Mary Jane Feldman, 82, of Dyersville, Iowa passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, December 31, 2017, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville. Visitation will continue Monday from 11:30 a.m. to12:30 p.m. at Kramer Funeral Home prior to funeral services.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 1, 2018 at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, Iowa with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Dennis Quint will officiate.
Mary Jane was born December 11, 1935 in Delhi, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Doris (Werner) Goldsmith. She married Jerome Feldman on May 31, 1958 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Delhi. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, St. Jude’s Mothers Club, and delivered meals on wheels for 19 years. She was an extraordinary minister and led the rosary in her parish for many years. Mary Jane was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed baking and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Jerome; six children: Kathy (Dan) Steffen and Mark (Mary Ann) Feldman both of Dyersville; Joan (Al) Hellmann of Marion, Rose Freese of Marshalltown; Chris Feldman of Dubuque; Diane (Andrew) Edgar of Helena, MT, grandchildren: Beckie (fiancé Charles Grim) Steffen, Matt Steffen both of Ames, Emily (Josh) Schindler, Molly Feldman both of West Des Moines, Ellen Feldman of Jesup, Jessie (Chris) Ketchum of Cedar Rapids, Angie (Max) Perkins of Mountlake Terrace, WA, Brandon Freese of Fort Dodge, Sam Edgar of Helena, MT, 2 great grandchildren: Landon and Eli Ketchum of Cedar Rapids, 1 brother, Darrel “Red” Goldsmith of Delhi, in-laws: Theresa Burkle of Manchester, Lavonne (Leander) Burkle, Irvin Feldmann, Tony (Joyce) Feldmann all of Earlville, Floyd (Rita) Feldmann, of Edgewood, Elmer (Dorothy) Feldmann of Hopkinton, Les (Joan) Feldmann of Rickardsville, Dave (Sandy) Feldmann of Alburnett, Loras (Mary) Feldmann of Farley, Gerald (Barb) Feldmann of Epworth, Dan (Barb) Feldmann of Cedar Rapids, Leanna Feldmann of Petersburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law, Anton and Isabella Feldmann, in-laws: Ann Goldsmith, Paul Feldmann, and Leon Burkle.
Memorials may be made to Camp Courageous of Iowa and Beckman Catholic High School.
