Obituary of Ardella Elizabeth Hoffmann
Ardella E. Hoffmann, 93 of Dyersville, formerly of Worthington, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at Oak Crest Manor, Dyersville, Iowa.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville, with a prayer vigil service at 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday from 8:30- 9:30 a.m. at Kramer Funeral Home prior to funeral services.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 28, 2017, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Worthington, with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Dennis Quint will officiate.
Ardella was born June 29, 1924 in New Vienna, Iowa the daughter of Clemens and Oda (Goedken) Bildstein. She married Monroe C. Hoffmann on February. 4, 1947, in Dyersville, Iowa. Together they farmed near Worthington until retiring to town in 1973. Ardella moved to the Ellen Kennedy Center on November 7, 2013, she enjoyed her time there very much. Her favorite pastime was playing Solo and Euchre. Ardella’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Survivors include her children: Kenneth Hoffmann of Dubuque, Francis (Shari) and Gary (Theresa), both of Worthington; 9 grandchildren: Scott (Amy) Hoffmann, Sharlyn Donovan, Michelle (Bob) Rausch, Shawn (Jodi) Hoffmann, Shyla Kae (Scott) Wulfekuhle, Shamus (Lori) Hoffmann, Aaron (Leah) Hoffmann, Amanda (Rob) Baumhover, and Lee (Diana) Hoffmann; 19 great grandchildren; siblings: Olga Helle of Manchester, in-laws: Norma Fortmann of Worthington.
She was preceded in death by her husband Monroe, parents, parents-in-law: Nick and Leona (Meyer) Hoffmann, siblings: Mathias “Mattie” (Adell) Bildstein, Esther (Gilbert) Digmann, and Henry “Jr.” (Eileen) Bildstein, in-laws: Martha (George) Kramer, Mabel (John) Kremer, Bernice (Melvin) Mai, Donald (Bernie) Hoffmann, Hazel (George) Mullis, Merlin Fortmann, and Marvin Helle.
