Obituary of Mary Lou Bockenstedt
ASBURY, IOWA
Mary Lou Bockenstedt, 69, of Asbury died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque after a brief illness.
Friends may call from 4-8 pm Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville .
A funeral service will be held at 11 am Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville with burial in St. Boniface Cemetery in New Vienna. Deacon Gerald Koopmann will officiate.
Mary Lou was born July 19, 1948, in Rickardsville the daughter of Martin and Ida (Clapham) Breitbach. She married Gerald “Gary” Bockenstedt on August 5, 1967, in Rickardsville. Together they began farming near Amber, and later moved to North Buena Vista. She was a CNA at the Guttenberg Care Center and Heritage Manor. She enjoyed square dancing with Gary and motorcycle trike rides.
Survivors include: her husband, Gary, 3 sons: Albert (Terah) Bockenstedt of Colorado Springs, CO, Douglas (Julie) Bockenstedt of Dubuque and Brad (Darcy) Bockenstedt of Edgewood; 5 grandchildren: Quinton and London Bockenstedt, Ellie, Abigail and Mya Bockenstedt; 3 sisters: Anna Riniker (Dan) of Dubuque, Betty (Bob) Petsche of Osterdock and Sue Weber of St. Donatus; in-laws: Roger Koos of Cascade, Mike Bockenstedt of Millville, Mark (Dianne) Bockenstedt of Dyersville, Jesse (Cindy) Bockenstedt of rural Farley, and Vince (Muriel) Bockenstedt of Abilene, TX, Marge (Richard) Langel of Oelwein, Ruth (John) Deutmeyer of Petersburg, and Jean (Von) Denlinger of Cascade.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her parents-in-law, Vince and Ila Bockenstedt, 2 sisters: Rita Koos and Delores Breitbach; in-laws, Richard Weber, Ted Bockenstedt and Mary Bockenstedt.
