Obituary of Carol Marie Brimeyer
DYERSVILLE, IOWA
Carol Marie Brimeyer, 78, of Dyersville passed away Sunday, October 8, 2017, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester after a long illness surrounded by her family.
Visitation will be held from 10 – 11 am Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, at St Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville where a Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 11 am. Rev. Dennis Quint will officiate. Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery in Dyersville.
Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville is assisting the family.
Carol was born Nov. 14, 1938, in Dubuque, Iowa the daughter of Soloman “Sal” and Viola (Stockel) Thoeni. She received her education in Dyersville and married Gerald “Greg” Brimeyer in Dyersville on June 21, 1958. She was a homemaker who enjoyed her grandchildren immensely. Other interests include traveling with Greg, doing cross stitch and needlework.
Carol was a member of St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Catholic Daughters of America, American Legion Auxiliary and Mercy Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald “Greg”, 3 children: Kevin (Cathy) of Lubbock, TX., Linda (Ron) Streck of Shaumburg, IL, and Keith of Marion, Iowa; 7 grandchildren: Meghan (fiancé Corey Rupp) Streck of Monticello, IA, Lisa (Daniel) Kaminski of Roselle, IL, and Katie (fiancé Patrick Smith) Streck, Ashley (Brian) Hentges of Austin, TX and Elizabeth Brimeyer of Lubbock, TX, Callie Brimeyer of Cedar Falls, IA, and Andrew Brimeyer of Cedar Rapids, IA; 4 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Susie (George “Butch”) Tittle of St. Catherine, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by 5 siblings: Betty Hunt, Shirley Taylor, Kathleen Jaeger, Donald Thoeni and David Thoeni.
