My condolences to the Herm Lahr family,
I would have been there to see my close friend off but I just learned an hour ago of his passing.
I am very thankful we hung out together for a few days in late June. Again my deepest sympathies, Jim Burds

Dick and Karen,
We are saddened to hear of your sudden loss. You were with us when we lost dad and Sue -- which helped up through a very difficult time. Our hearts are with you in this moment of sorrow and you all are in our thoughts and prayers.

As friend and associate of Bev at Western Dubuque, my condolences to the family on the loss of your father.. A story Bev told me years ago about her and Herman might help in a time of remembrance. Bev related to me about a trip back to Worthington shortly after their marriage when they saw an UFO. They found out later that other people in the area had also seen and confirmed it. This is a small something to remember about your parents...

I am so sorry for you loss. Herm was a great guy. There were times when Herm helped my dad bale hay. What I remember best about him was his wonder laugh! He and my brother, Jim, were good friends for almost 70 years. I'm considerably younger, but I remember him fondly. I hope your memories of him sustain you during this sad time.

Herm was one of a kind. I would look out the window when I came home from school waiting for him to sit on the porch. Loved swinging with him on the front porch. I would sit and talk to him for hours. Also loved going over when he was milking cows to watch him work. Will miss him.
