PETERSBURG, IOWA Ellen C. Domeyer, 78, of Petersburg, IA died Friday, March 18, 2011 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Friends may call from 2 until 8 p.m. Monday March 21, 2011 at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa where a parish scripture service will be held at 4 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Petersburg, Iowa with burial in the church cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. John O'Connor Survivors include her husband, Bud, and her children: Dave (Diane) Domeyer of Colesburg, Carla (Elmer) Ries of New Vienna, and Mary (Dave) Stevens of Dyersville, and daughter-in-law Jayne (Wayne) Meyer of Dyersville. Grandchildren: Kari (Curtis) Tessum of Webster City, Kyle Domeyer of Dubuque, Shilo (Jeff) Westhoff of Johnson City, TN, Shelly (Adam) Jelinek of Marion, Natalie (Jerry) Montgomery of Ann Arbor, MI, Ashley (Kory) Manternach of Dyersville, Janelle Domeyer of Omaha, NE, Luke (Sara) Domeyer of Dyersvlle, Kelly Domeyer of Ankeny, Melissa (Tony) Kruse of Ankeny, and Michelle Stevens of Davenport. 19 great-grandchildren plus one arriving soon. Siblings: Vince (Helen) Hogan of Luxemburg, Phil (Deanna) Hogan and Jack (Carol) Hogan of Colesburg. In-Laws: Jim Helle of Colesburg, Roland (Timmie) and Peter (Clarice) Domeyer of Dubuque, Jack (Shirley) Domeyer of Holy Cross, James Domeyer of Manchester, Donald Domeyer of Petersburg, Mary Lou Gravel of Dyersville, Doris (John) Burlage of Monticello, Virgie Domeyer of Manchester, Rita Domeyer of Dyersville. Ellen was born on September 15, 1932 in Colesburg, Iowa. The daughter of Ray and Hilda (Bruggeman) Hogan. She married LaVerne "Bud" Domeyer on May 7, 1952 in Colesburg, Iowa. Ellen was a wonderful wife and mother who had a tremendous faith in God. Together with her husband, Bud, they ran Petersburg Appliance for 40 years. Ellen enjoyed traveling the world with Bud, golfing with friends, and following the Iowa Hawkeyes, but most of all loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Pat "Petey", sister Joann Helle and numerous in-laws. The family would like to thank the staff at Oak Park Place as well as the very kind and compassionate staff at Shady Rest Care Center that took such wonderful care of Ellen.
