Obituary of Delores Frances Biermann
Delores Frances Biermann, 97, of Dyersville died Thursday, July 27, 2017, at Oak Crest Manor in Dyersville.
Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2017, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville. Visitation will continue from 9 – 10 am Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017, at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at St .Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Dennis Conway will officiate.
Delores was born November 12, 1919, in New Vienna, Iowa, the daughter of Otto and Theresa (Recker) Hagemann. She married Alfred H. “Fritz” Biermann on Nov. 14, 1939, in New Vienna. Together they farmed in the Dyersville area. He preceded her in death in June of 1973. She was a wonderful cook and homemaker who was renowned for her pie.
She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed bowling and playing cards, loved working in her flower and vegetable gardens. Playing cards was a favorite pastime with friends, especially playing Solo. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court St. Rose, volunteered cleaning church, and loved quilting with her lady friends.
Survivors include her children: Patricia (John) Ertl of Guttenberg, and Diane (Don) Overman of Dyersville, Linda McClure of Grimes, IA and Doug (Deb) Biermann of Dyersville; 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, with another baby girl due in October; brothers: Walter (Irene) of San Diego, CA, Julius (Betty) of Dyersville, Edward (Inez) of New Vienna, and a sister, Eileen Hageman of Dyersville; sisters-in-law: Veronica Hageman of Dyersville, LaVern Hageman of Port St. Lucie, FL and Kathleen Hageman of Dubuque, and a brother-in-law, James Hesselmann of Niwot, CO.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred, daughter, Grace Biermann, and a son-in-law, Gary McClure; siblings: Charles Hageman, James Hageman, Cindy Hageman, Urban (Grace) Hageman, Joseph Hageman, Joan Hesselmann and John Hageman.
