NEW VIENNA, IOWA
Sue M. Goedken, of New Vienna, Iowa died Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at Guttenberg Care Center, Guttenberg, Iowa.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2017, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville where a parish vigil service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Visitation will continue from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Kramer Funeral Home prior to funeral services.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Vienna, Iowa with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. John O’Connor will officiate.
Sue was the daughter of Leo and Lois (Staner) Goedken. Her family was the most important aspect of her life, especially her dearly loved nieces and nephews. She enjoyed taking pictures, making desserts, and was the “music director” for the family Christmas concert. Sue never missed a birthday, holiday or special occasion with a very unique personalized message.

Survivors include her mother, Lois Goedken of Dyersville, siblings: Bill (Stephanie) Goedken of Nashville, IL, Leo Jr. (Lisa) Goedken of Dubuque, Lisa Smith of Monona, Jack (Joan) Goedken of Independence, Sandy Harbaugh of St. Olaf, nieces and nephews: Julie and Trinity Baugher and Mia Goedken; Carmen, Michelle and Matthew Goedken; Dustin, Nikole and Natasha Smith; Emily, Abigail and Adam Goedken; Ashley (Thomas) Wacker, Jeremy (Lilly) Harbaugh and Josh Harbaugh, and 9 great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leo Goedken July 6, 2016, paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Veronica Goedken, maternal grandparents, Cyril and Mary Staner.
