Obituary of Lucinda Catherine Burger

Lucinda “Cindy” C. Burger, 94, of Worthington died Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center in Dyersville.
Visitation will be held 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville .
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2017, St. Paul Catholic Church, Worthington with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Dennis Quint will officiate.
Cindy was born February 4, 1922, in Dyersville the daughter of Henry and Rose (Kramer) Joester. She graduated from Xavier High School with perfect attendance. She married Lawrence “Bob” Burger on May 24, 1946, in Dyersville. Together they owned Burger’s Tap in Worthington for over 40 years until 1990. She was an avid Worthington Cardinal baseball fan, watching her children and grandchildren in the area baseball tournaments, and witnessing her favorite team, the Cubs, win the World Series.
Survivors include her 5 children: Sue Burger of Worthington, Sally (Steve) Schultz of Eldridge, Bill (Lois) Burger of Worthington, Joe (Molly) Burger of Dubuque, Bob (Angie) Burger of Worthington; 11 grandchildren: Maggie (Ben) Tebo, Kathy (Mark) Riebe, Chris (Jan) Finkler, Sarah Schultz, Matthew (Angie) Burger, Brad Burger, Jill (Tim) Seagren, Jude (Erica) Burger, Sally (John) Elstad, Danica and Sela Burger; 15 great grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Ruth Green of Dubuque and Grace Wieneke of Dyersville; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant son, Michael, in-laws: Florence (Wilfred “Fritz”) Scherbring, Charles (Jean) Burger, Ray (Marcella) Burger, Helen (Marvin) Jarding and Lucille (Henry) Hess, Lawrence Green and Richard Wieneke.
Memorials are preferred.
The family would like to thank the staff of Oak Crest Manor for the wonderful care and companionship over the last four months, and Jerry Digmann for years of spiritual support and visits.
