Obituary of James Gerard Ernzen

James G. “Jim” Ernzen, 60, of Luxemburg died Tuesday, July 5, 2016, as a result of an automobile accident.
Visitation will be held 2 - 8 p.m., Sunday, July 10, 2016, at Kramer Funeral Home in Holy Cross. Visitation will continue 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 11, at Kramer Funeral Home, Holy Cross prior to funeral services.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 11, 2016, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Luxemburg. Rev. Noah Diehm will officiate.
Jim was born July 8, 1955, in Sherrill, the son of Harold and Florence (Link) Ernzen. He married Mary McDermott. Together they raised their family in the Luxemburg area. Jim enjoyed spending time outdoors with his family and friends on various hobbies including deer hunting, rabbit and squirrel hunting, coon hunting and fishing. Jim nourished his family and many others with the fruits of his garden and meat processing skills. He was a devoted son. As a proud father and grandfather, he often taught life lessons. He also enjoyed playing euchre and lighting the sky with fireworks.
Survivors include his wife, Mary, his children: David (April) Ernzen, Beth Ernzen, Ben Ernzen, Jessica (Robert) Young, and Robin Ernzen; grandchildren: Ella, Carter and Brie Ernzen, and Joey Young; his mother, Florence Ernzen; siblings: Mary Ann (Leonard) Kremer, Kay (Dave) Stoffel, Donnie Ernzen, Geri (Bill) Hall, Mark (Bev) Ernzen; several nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews, and several in-laws and nieces & nephews of the Joe McDermott family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Ernzen, an infant brother, Davey Ernzen, sister-in-law, Rosie Ernzen, a brother-in-law, and Irvin & Lucille Stoffel who were just like family.
Memorials are preferred to the Ernzen Memorial Fund.
