Obituary of Freida Kay Loesche
Freida K. Loesche, 63, of Petersburg, died Saturday, May 21, 2016, at St. Luke’s Unity Point Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a short illness.
Visitation will be held from 3 -8 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville where a parish vigil service will be held at 5 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday morning, May 26, from 8:30 - 10 a.m. at Kramer Funeral Home prior to funeral services.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 26, 2016, SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Petersburg, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Earlville. Rev. John O’Connor will officiate.
Freida was born February 11, 1953, in Manchester, the daughter of Merlin and Betty (Goetzinger) Conrad. She graduated from Maquoketa Valley High School in 1972 and worked at the Ertl Company in Dyersville for 20 years. Following that she worked at Modernfold and Nu-World Amaranth.
On October 2, 1993, she was united in marriage to Russ Loesche. Freida was a member of St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Petersburg. She loved spending time with her family, helping her husband on the farm and found enjoyment teasing her nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, going to the gambling boat, bingo and living in the country. Freida was a humble and giving soul, who had a quirky personality with a heart of gold that would do anything for you. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Freida is survived by her husband Russ Loesche, of Petersburg, step-son, Jayme (Stefanie) Loesche and step-granddaughter, Chiara of Cedar Rapids; siblings: June (Bob) Naber of Dyersville, Arlo Conrad of Delhi, Eric Conrad of Los Angeles, CA, Neal (Nancy) Conrad of Hopkinton, Dale (Connie) Conrad of Delhi; father and mother-in-law, Sylvester ‘Red’ and Alma Loesche of Dyersville; in-laws: Dennis (Jean) Loesche and Randy Loesche, both of Petersburg; Connie (Leon) Schuster and Margie (Cam) Kolle, both of Dyersville; Bonnie (Gary) Bass of Bedford, TX; nieces and nephews: Rob (Autumn) Conrad, Adam and Scott Conrad, Amy (Chris) Errthum, Amanda (Curt) Kramer, Aaron Conrad, Matt and Laura Naber, Benji (Missy) Loesche, Billi (Dave) Mottet, Bob Loesche, Brittany Loesche, Amber (Jeff) Lehman, Cory Schuster, Carrie (Josh) Broghammer, Ashley (Jeremiah) Chapman and Amanda (Justin) Tucker.
Freida was preceded in death by her parents, Merlin and Betty Conrad; maternal grandparents, Leo and Magdalene (Mohr) Goetzinger and paternal grandparents, Thomas and Angeline (Pfeiler) Conrad, a brother-in-law, Wayne Wieneke, and several aunts and uncles.
