MONTICELLO, IOWA
Theresa M. Grant, 44, of Monticello, died Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids after battling cancer for two years.
Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2016, at Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello with a parish vigil service at 3:00 p.m. A continued visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 on Monday, April 4, prior to funeral services at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Paul Baldwin officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Theresa was born on November 13, 1971 in Maquoketa to Ann (Guzzo) and the late Larry Osterkamp. She graduated with the Class of 1990, from Midland High School. She was very active in her high school band playing many instruments, flags and drum majorette. She was an Eagle Volleyball Player and loved it very much. She attended the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls and then worked at Monticello Schools for nine years with special needs children. Theresa later worked for Monticello Family Dentistry as a dental assistant taking special care of the kids who came in. Theresa married Tom Grant on November 1, 2003 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oxford Junction. Together they were blessed with 4 angels, Madilyn, Marisa, Anna, and Aiden. Theresa’s family meant everything to her, she always put their needs before her own. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Those left to cherish Theresa’s memory are her husband Tom, 4 children Madilyn Grant of Dubuque, Marisa, Anna and Aiden all at home, granddaughter Aleah Grant of Dubuque, mother, Ann Osterkamp of Wyoming, brother Paul (Tonia) Osterkamp of Cedar Rapids, grandfather Samuel Guzzo of Wyoming, grandmother Evelyn Stimpson of Monticello, parents-in-law, Emmett and Dennise Grant of Cascade, 7 in-laws, Roxanne Klostermann of Dyersville, Danny (Ann) Grant of Delhi, Julie Aldrich of Monticello, David (Annette) Grant of Cedar Rapids, Ann (Al) Brus of Dubuque, Trisia (Martin) Lahr of Coggon, Diane (Greg) Miller of Walford, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Larry Osterkamp, brother-in-law, Don Klostermann, sister-in-law, Cheryl Grant, nephew Logan Grant, her grandmother Audrey Guzzo and grandfather, Henry Osterkamp.
A memorial fund has been established for her three young children at Ohnward Bank in Monticello.
Tom would like to thank all of her health care providers, friends and family that helped or cared for Theresa and Tom throughout this journey.
