Germaine C. Kloser, 85, of Dyersville, Iowa died Sunday, May 1, 2011, at Oak Crest Manor in Dyersville. Germaine was born on February 15, 1926, in Luxemburg, Iowa, the daughter of John and Antonia (Roth) Welter. She married Albert L. Kloser on August 27, 1945 in Luxemburg, Iowa. Together they farmed near Millville for about 5 years and then south of Worthington for nearly 30 years. They retired and moved to Dyersville in 1982. Germaine kept herself busy singing in St. Paul's Choir and the Xavier Resurrection Choir, enjoying her garden and flower beds, playing cards with family and friends and Polka dancing. She was a consumate homemaker who loved to cook and bake for her family. She took special joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Albert, 13 children: Dave (Judy) Kloser of Forsyth, MO, Bob (Karen) Kloser of Epworth, Dennis (Joan) Kloser of Dyersville, Larry (Diane) Kloser of New Vienna, Duane (Chris) Kloser of Canby, OR, Steve (Clarissa) Kloser of Puyallup, WA, Rick (Marion) Kloser of Dyersville, LouAnn (John) Kalmes of St. Donatus, Mary (Alec) Anderson of Lake Jackson, TX, Sharon Bonert of Petersburg, Mark (Julie) Kloser of Earlville, Joyce (Dan) Schueller of Peosta, Bonnie (Jim) Harter of Petersburg, 37 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren, siblings: Marcella Boeckenstedt of Dyersville, Edna Rausch of Garnavillo and Ralph (Anna Mae) Welter of Dubuque; brothers-and-sisters-in-law: Sr. Bertha Marie Kloser, Ann Bjorneby, Joe (Dee) Kloser, John (Rita) Kloser, Herman (Tillie) Kloser and Marie (George) Pluemer. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son, Loras Kloser, a son-in-law, Ron Bonert, siblings: Bernise Welter in infancy, Lucille (Clarence) Thiesen, Olive (Kermit) Mitchell and Alberta (Alphonse) Roling; many brothers-and-sisters-in-law The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Oak Crest Manor and thanks to Hospice of Dubuque for their compassionate care and kindness. Friends may call from 2 - 8 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2011, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa where a parish scripture service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2011, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, Iowa with burial in the church cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Dennis Quint.
