Marita and family,
My deepest sympathy to all of you at this difficult time.
I remember many nights of card games that you and Gene played with Mom and Dad (Joe and Ruth Lansing) and the rest of the gang.
Gene was always laughing and telling jokes! What a wonderful man.
Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Marita and Sandy
I was saddened to read of the passing of Gene. My mother just passed January 1.
My best memory I have is when the play The Birds was put on at Beckman and the cast party was held at your home. How gracious of you to open your home to a bunch of teenagers for the night !

My sincere sympathy upon the loss of your dad. I remember his easy and friendly smile, coaching many little league victories and every year the Cubs would finally win! (maybe this year?)

Gene was a Gem. He drove most of our family to school for years and we enjoyed him immensely. He always had a smile and was full of kindness. Every time I saw him he always knew me. Today he is driving the big bus for the Lord with a smile on his face. God bless Gene and his family! Sharon Petsche

I think of uncle Gene as a perfect balance between compassion and strength. He was so kind and gentle, and along with that he had this confidence that was so re-assuring. I can picture him contently sitting back, just observing, listening with a silent nod and a smile.
I teach yoga and one concept that we talk about often is "effort and ease," and finding a balance between the two. Being strong yet flexible, disciplined yet able to go with the flow, confident yet humble. Uncle Gene seemed to be all of these things. I hope that I can embody these qualities as well as he did.
I cannot make it back for the memorial services, but please know that my prayers will be with you continually. My mom and dad and siblings will carry my heartfelt condolences to you Marita, Ann, Russ, Doug, Sheri and Sandy. Strength and love to you!
Love,
Michelle (Domeyer) Barnette
