MANCHESTER, IOWA
Mary C. Winch, 58, of rural Manchester died Thurs., Dec. 31, 2015, at her residence after a brief battle with cancer.
Visitation will be held from 2:30 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016, at the Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello where a memorial service will commence at 7 p.m. Rev. Ed Moreano will officiate.
Mary was born May 1, 1957, in Dubuque, IA the daughter of George G. and Mary (O’Donnell) Davidsaver. She graduated from Senior High School in Dubuque with the Class of 1975. She worked in various manufacturing industries including Flexsteel and Rockwell Collins. Most recently she was employed at Polo Plastics and Spireon.
She married Merle Winch, Jr. on August 30, 2002. She was fond of her grandchildren and especially cherished time spent with her grandson, Nolan, to whom she was affectionately known as “Namma Mary”. She collected antiques and cherished her antique stoneware. She was a proud political conservative who enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking for her family and was a very devoted Dallas Cowboys fan.
Surviving are her husband, Merle, a daughter, Amber (Bob) Urbain of Monticello, 2 sons: Uriah (Becky) Frommelt of Dubuque and Josh (JoEllen) Frommelt of Marion; 8 grandchildren; 2 brothers: George T. Davidsaver and Ted Davidsaver, both of Dubuque; 1 sister, Amy (Mike) Rube of Cedar Falls, 1 aunt, Jean Davidsaver of Bellevue; parents-in-law, Merle, Sr. and Lois Winch of rural Hopkinton; and her first husband, David E. Frommelt.
She is preceded in death by her parents and an uncle, Nick Davidsaver.
The family would like to thank the staffs at 6 Roy Carver UIHC, Above and Beyond Hospice, especially Rev. Ed Moreano, for their assistance, compassion and exceptional care.
Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
