Lawrence Leo Ellerbach, 90, of Holy Cross, Iowa died Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Manor Care Health Services, Dubuque.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2015, at Holy Cross Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2015, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Holy Cross, Iowa with burial in the church cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Scherrman Peterson American Legion Post 656. Rev. Al Vorwald will officiate.
Lawrence was born January 14, 1925 in Holy Cross, Iowa the son of George and Regina (Hullerman) Ellerbach. He married Rose C. Welter on April 7, 1956 in Richardsville, Iowa. Lawrence was in the United States Army stationed in Texas from September 1950 to 1952.
Survivors include a son, Dennis (Judy) Ellerbach of Holy Cross, grandchildren: George Ellerbach of Iowa City, Jennifer Ellerbach of Holy Cross, siblings: Bernard Ellerbach of Guttenberg, Gerald (Darlene) Ellerbach of Holy Cross, Kay Daly of Bankston and Bernice Honkomp of Dyersville, and a sister in-law Dorothy Ellerbach of Holy Cross, Carol Lattner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rose in 2010, siblings: William (Gladys) Ellerbach, Ernest Ellerbach, in-laws: Margaret Ellerbach, Jim Daly, Leander Steffen, Joan Ellerbach, Gib Honkomp, Catherine Welter, Carl Welter, Veronica (Joseph) Griffin, Ted Welter, Rosemary Welter, Nick Welter, Matilda Welter, John Welter, Mary Welter and Michael Welter.
