Steve, Vern and family,
So sorry to hear about your Mom's passing. She was quite the lady! We sure had a lot of fun at your house, especially on rainy days when the pool was closed. I always remember the map with pins where all the kids were. She will be fondly remembered.

Hello all,
I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of Aunt AnnaMargaret as we called her.
She was always such a lady that carried herself in such a calm and respectful manner.
I was always drawn to her sweet energy.
We lost my Mom, Linda Hopkins a year ago, and were so surprised that she didn't live the long life that her Mom and Aunts did.
I'm glad she was surrounded by a loving family and blessed with many grandchildren to
tell all the stories.
Just so you know, she is the reason my favorite color is purple.
Prayers for comfort and peace,
Stephanie VISLISEL and family.

What a privilege to have Ann at the Living Center. Truly one of the most respected and loved tenants there! I stayed with her overnight during a snowstorm and it is one of my best memories working there. Such a kind selfless person -so glad I got to work with her. My deepest sympathy. Lili

I can still remember the kind and reassuring heart of Mrs. Boenish, as my first grade teacher. There are some people that will forever touch your life. She will be sadly missed.

To the Boenish kids....Your mother was a true legend, and I mean that in the kindest sense. She was a good friend of my mother.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. I have many fond memories of her growing up. She always had a smile on her face even though she had a house full of boys! Her obituary is a wonderful tribute to a beautiful person. There is so much I didn't know about her.

You have my sympathy as you mourn the loss of your wonderful Mother, Ann. Not only did she teach children to read, she taught adults. I hired her to teach GED high school equivalency classes to adults in the Dyersville area when I was the Adult Basic Education Coordinator for Northeast Iowa Community College. She continued
for about 10 years working with them one-to-one or in small groups at the Dyersville Library. She had many successful students who completed their GED. She was known for her kind ways ,patience and teaching techniques. She was an exceptional teacher. I will not forget her.. Sincerely, Mary L. Strom

Ann Boenish was a fantastic teacher at Western Dubuque. I taught with her from 1969 and she also taught both my sons in first grade. Ann was a rare and special teacher and women who understood the importance of student's feelings and educational potential.
Her legacy will live on in you and the students she taught.

My condolences to your family....I mainly new Vern, although I doubt he remembers me. I had interaction through the medical field with your mom and she was an incredible woman. They say there's two dates on your tombstone. The date you were born, and the date you die... But it's the dash in between that matters, how you live your life. Your mama left her "dash" well! She served our country and God bless her for that... May she rest in peace. My prayers are with all of you.
Jenni. (Gus&Mary Ann Wilhelm's daughter )
