HOLY CROSS, IOWA Armella C. Schroeder, 94, of Holy Cross, Iowa died Friday, October 16, 2015 at Oak Crest Manor, Dyersville. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday October 19, 2015, at Kramer Funeral Home in Holy Cross where a parish vigil service will be held at 2:30 p.m., and a Catholic Order of Foresters rosary at 4:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday October 20, 2015, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Holy Cross, with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Noah Diehm will officiate. Armella was born January 12, 1921, in New Vienna, Iowa the daughter of Clem and Magdeline (Schroeder) Fangman. She married Joseph N. Schroeder on January 12, 1944 in New Vienna, Iowa. Together they farmed in the Holy Cross area retiring in 1988. Armella was a member of the Holy Cross Rosary Society and Catholic Order of Foresters. Survivors include her 3 sons: Ken (Bonnie) Schroeder of Holy Cross, Ron Schroeder of Vancouver, Canada, David (Lauren) Schroeder of San Diego, CA, 3 daughters: Judy Schroeder and Linda (Larry) Begle of Dyersville, Joyce Schroeder of Holy Cross, 16 grandchildren: Kari (Duane) Meyer, Vicki (Matt) Saxton, Aaron (Bridget) Schroeder, Kim (Jason) Ainsworth, Ryan Schroeder, Michelle (Joel) Rubel, Steve (Brittany) Begle, Adam Begle, Rachel (Anthony) Simon, Alex Begle, Nicholas Begle, Michael Schroeder, Christopher Schroeder, Joseph Schroeder, Phillip Schroeder, Benjamin Schroeder 13 great grandchildren: Megan, Elly, Drew, Levi, Jude Meyer, Owen, Regan, McKenzie, Saxton, Clare, Kyle, Tyler Schroeder, Maeve, Paige, Ainsworth. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joe in 2001, 13 siblings: Regina (Alphonse) Gaul, Marie (Ed) Schneider, Lawrence (Frances) Fangman, Clara (Nicholas) Ruden, Leander (Aggie) Fangman, Julia (Clarence) Schlichte, Leonard (Jeanette) Fangman, Irene (Alfred) Vorwald, Edwin (Lois) Fangman, Elmer (Anna Mae) Fangman, 3 in infancy, Anthony, Anita, and Elizabeth.
