Albert L. Kloser, 89, of Dyersville went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Oakcrest Manor. Albert died of a broken heart surrounded by his family. The visitation will be held Friday, May 20, 2011 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville, with a parish scripture service at 2 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 21, 2011 at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery. Officiating will be Robert Gross. Albert was born August 12, 1921, in North Buena Vista, IA to Albert N. and Louise (Riniker) Kloser. He began his long and wonderful marriage to Germaine C. Welter on August 27, 1945 in Luxemburg. They farmed for most of their married life before retiring to Dyersville in 1982. Albert was a proud and devoted father of 14 children. He worked hard as a farmer to provide for his family. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, dancing, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Albert is survived by 13 children: Dave (Judy) Kloser, Forsyth, Missouri; Bob (Karen) Kloser, Epworth; Dennis (Joan) Kloser, Dyersville; Larry (Diane) Kloser, New Vienna; Duane (Chris) Kloser, Canby, Oregon; Steve (Clarissa) Kloser, Puyallup, Washington; Rick (Marion) Kloser, Dyersville; LouAnn (John) Kalmes, St. Donatus; Mary (Alec) Anderson, Lake Jackson, Texas; Sharon Bonert, Petersburg; Mark (Julie) Kloser, Earlville; Joyce (Dan) Schueller, Peosta; Bonnie (Jim) Harter, Petersburg; 37 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren, siblings: John (Rita) Kloser, Joe (Delores) Kloser, and Herman (Tillie) Kloser, Sister Bertha Marie Kloser, all of Dubuque, Ann Bjorneby, Everett, Washington, and Marie (George) Pluemer, Appleton, Wisconsin; brothers and sisters-in-law: Marcella Boeckenstedt, Edna Rausch, and Ralph (Anna Mae) Welter. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Germaine on May 1, 2011; parents, Albert N. and Louise Kloser; step mother Alberta Kloser; infant son Loras Kloser; son-in-law Ron Bonert; 3 sisters: Loretta (Al) Freiburg, Louisa Kloser, Florence (Bud) Hefel, Francis Ray Steffen, and Otto Bjorneby; and many brothers and sisters-in-law. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Oakcrest Manor and Hospice of Dubuque for their compassionate care and kindness.
