Miranda M. Hogan, 20, of Farley died Friday, May 1, 2015, in Dubuque.
Friends may call from 2:00 - 9:00 p.m. Wednesday May 6, 2015, at the Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville, where a parish vigil service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friends may also call Thursday from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 7, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Farley with burial at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Farley. Rev. Michael Schueller will officiate.
Miranda was born April 12, 1995, in Dubuque the daughter of Frederick "Sam" and Darla (Steger) Hogan. She graduated from Western Dubuque High School. Miranda was active in the Band program for seven years and in the Marion Honor Band. During the summer she played softball for Farley and Bankston, and later coached. She taught CCD class in Peosta. Miranda completed 12 years of Girl Scouts and was the first Jr. Black Belt in the Dyersville Karate Club. She completed the CNA program at NICC during high school and worked at the Galena Hospital, Bell Towers in East Dubuque, and 24 Hour Care. Miranda also worked for Simon's Restaurant in Worthington. After high school she enrolled in the Criminal Justice program at NICC, and obtained a Security position at John Deere, where she was currently employed.
Those left to cherish Miranda's memory are her parents, Sam and Darla Hogan of Farley; brother, Spencer Hogan special friend Alicia Hansel, of Dyersville; sister, McKenna Hogan of Farley; maternal grandmother, Darlene Steger of Dyersville; uncles, Dean Steger, special friend Stacy Miles, of Dyersville, Herb (Karen) Hogan, Stan (Julie) Hogan, Nick Hogan, Lloyd (Cherie) Hogan, Dave (Janet) Hogan, all of Dubuque, Louis (Jeannie) Hogan, of Bankston, Dick (Kathleen) Hogan, of Delhi, Ted Hogan of Holy Cross; aunts, Millie (Mike) Burkhart, Linda Hogan, Gloria Hogan, Arlene Hogan, all of Dubuque, Nancy Mausser of Monticello, Maxine (Andy) Goedken, of Dyersville, Mary (Ron) Manderfield of Richardsville, Velma Ferguson, of FL; many cousins, and her best friend her dog Kaitai.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Fred and Pauline Hogan, maternal grandfather Don Steger, and uncle, Michael Hogan.
