Joyce M. Grubb, 68, of Eldridge died Friday, April 24, 2015, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
Friends may call from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday April 28, 2015, at the Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville, where a parish vigil service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friends may continue to call from 8:30 - 9:45 a.m. at Kramer Funeral Home April 29, 2015
A Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville with burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery, in Colesburg. Deacon Roger Riesberg will officiate.
Joyce was born October 17, 1946, in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of Thomas and Frances (Lemee) Norsen. She graduated from Kenmore East High School and Upper Iowa University. She married John Grubb on January 21, 1967 in Fayette, IA. She worked at Farmers Savings Bank in Colesburg, and Dupaco Credit Union, retiring in 2002. Early in her marriage she enjoyed competing in a bowling league andbwomen's golf league at Lone Pine Country Club. Joyce transitioned from competition to becoming the "loudest" fan of all her children who competed in high school and collegiate athletics. Later in life she enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Joyce is survived by her children, Kevin Grubb, of Chicago, IL, Karen (Tom) Steidler, of Eldridge, IA, Chris (Bobbi) Grubb, of La Crosse, WI, Kathy (Willie) Hunt, of Zion, IL, Thomas (Katy) Grubb, of Cedar Rapids, IA; 8 grandchildren Willie, Kassandra, Robert Hunt, Dane, Benjamin Steidler, Matthew, Isabelle Grubb, Meleah Grubb; brother John E. (Jane) Norsen, of Rochester, NY; niece and nephews, Jennifer (Jason) Kern, John Todd Norsen, Kenneth Piasecki, and John Olaf Heintz Norsen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John in 2001.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Ed-Co Athletic Booster Club, Colesburg Fire Department, and Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
A funeral luncheon will follow at the Comfort Inn conference room, Dyersville, Iowa after burial in Colesburg.
