MONTICELLO, IOWA Marjorie Behrends Freeman, 82, of Monticello passed from this life Thursday, January 15, 2015, at Monticello Nursing & Rehab. Center. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 19, 2015, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Monticello where her funeral service will commence at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Officiating will be Darryl Larson. Marjorie was born on September 19, 1932, in Monticello the daughter of Ben and Clara (Ricklefs) Behrends. She graduated from Monticello High School with the class of 1950 and went on to earn her degree in business. She worked in administration in the entertainment industry. She married William E. Freeman on August 22, 1973, in Orange County, CA, returning to Monticello in 2009, after her retirement. Marge was passionate about live theatre, its music and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her children: Joan (James) Berends of Monticello, William Karr of Mission Viejo, CA Lisa (Clem) Primer of Monticello; 6 grandchildren: Brian (Wanda) Hughes, Carrie (Jack) Schroeder, Brandon (Sarah) Kraus, Adam (Andrea) Kraus, Regan and Baxter Primer; 7 great-grandchildren: Mackenzie Swallom, Madison Schroeder, Courtney Kraus, Ryah and Ryne Hughes, Kale and Shiloh Kraus. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill, a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Richard O'Grady and a brother, Lyle Behrends. Memorials are preferred to St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Monticello.
