Dolores was born April 24, 1914, in Dyersville, the daughter of Joseph and Lenore (Wedewer) Schlarmann. She attended St. Francis Xavier School and helped out at home until she married Gregor Tegeler on April 24, 1935. He preceded her in death in 1943.

Dolores then married Edmund Deutmeyer on April 20, 1976. He also preceded her in death in 1986.
Dolores had a very outgoing personality. Everyone was her friend and she put others first. She enjoyed playing cards, quilting and crocheting. Dolores made many afghans and quilts for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed doing this until Macular Degeneration set in. She had a lot of "bumps in the road" in her life and still she didn't complain.
Her religion meant a lot to her. She had a great devotion to the Blessed Virgin. The biggest honor was to have the "Corpus Christi" procession come to her house and know the Lord was present on her porch. Father Petty started this tradition in 1993 which lasted 20 years, after which time Dolores moved into the Ellen Kennedy Living Center.
Survivors include her son, Herb J. Tegeler of Dyersville and daughter, Mary Jean "Toots" (Henry) Westhoff of New Vienna, 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and another on the way in September, one brother, Joseph (Madeline) Schlarmann and a sister, Anna Mae (Loras) Kieffer both of Dubuque.
