This week our father lost his best friend and we lost so much more than a parent. Sitting in her house the last two days just isn't the same and when we gather in the future, we know it will be different. We know she will always be there with and for us, but we are just not sure who will make the potato salad.
We love you mom.

I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear about your unexpected loss. I am so very sorry. I am still trying to accept it, as I am sure each of you are. I pray that the outpouring of sympathy you are receiving is some consolation at this very sad time. Carol was a wonderful, beautiful human and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. I am privileged to have known her. The Bible says "Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted." I pray that God will bless each of you and give you strength to get through this very difficult time. My thoughts and prayers will be with you. In Faith & Sympathy, Krysti

A message of sympathy, of comfort, of caring to help you through this difficult time. Carol was my classmate. We had a very nice visit at our 45th reunion in St. Louis and at our 50th reunion in Dyersville. I am so sorry Lloyd for you and your entire family. I'm sure your loss will be felt forever. Have peace in your heart knowing you will be together again someday. She is your angel in heaven.

Just got the shocking text from my sister Norma Wegmann. So very sad and surprised to hear Carol died of a blood clot. That is how my second husband died, very quick! Glad I got to see Carol at our 50 year class reunion. At our age, every day is a blessing. But this is just still way too young. I can imagine Carol was the best mom and grandma and will be missed terribly. Loyd will need his family and friends to help him get through this. Living in California, I miss that wonderful support and community closeness you all have in Dyersville. Cherish all the memories and talk to her any time, every day. She now loves you in the most wonderful way always will. My sympathy to Loyd and family. Janet
