Jose Moncada Nava, 36, of Petersburg died Monday, March 3, 2014, as a result of an auto/train accident in Earlville, Iowa. Friends may call from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2014, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville where a Vigil Service will be held at 4 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2014, at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Petersburg. Rev. John O'Connor will officiate. Jose will be returned to his hometown, Zacatecas, Mexico for burial on the family ranch. Jose was born May 19, 1977 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, the son of Rumuldo and Maria de (Moncada) Moncada. Jose became a proud and loving father to a son, Esteban, in Sycamore, IL and moved to Petersburg two years ago, volunteering at SS. Peter and Paul Church for community service. He and Fr. O'Connor became good friends, helping each other at church delivering pies around the local areas. He was a welder at EIP in Earlville. Survivors include his parents of Zacatecas, Mexico, a two year old son, Esteban Aguirre Moncada of Sycamore, IL; 2 sisters: Aracely Moncada Perez of Zacatecas, Mexico and Maria Luisa Moncada Nava of Albuquerque, NM; 4 brothers: Samuel Moncada Nava of Elgin, IL, Richardo Moncada Nava of Petersburg, Reynoldo Moncada Nava of Nashville, TN, Eric Moncada Nava of Zacatecas, Mexico.
