DYERSVILLE, IOWA
Brittany Marie Honkomp, 23, of Dyersville died Saturday morning, Dec. 21, 2013, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at the Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW, in Dyersville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Dennis Quint will officiate.
Brittany was born November 12, 1990, in Dubuque, the daughter of LaVern and Joan (Deutmeyer) Honkomp. She graduated from Beckman High School with the Class of 2009 and went on to earn an Associate's of Applied Science degree at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo. She was currently working for Millennium Therapy as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, primarily at Luther Manor, and part-time at Heritage Manor in Dubuque. Brittany frequently shared the joys of her work and often proclaimed on Facebook "I thoroughly love my job!"
You could always find a smile on Brittany's face. She enjoyed life to the fullest, was very family oriented, and would go out of her way to keep in touch with her family and friends. There was never a person Brittany met that she didn't care for. Every relationship she established was cherished and she left a lasting imprint on everyone that had the privilege of knowing her.
Brittany is survived by her parents and two brothers: Rob (Amber) Honkomp and their son Abel, and Jeremy (Kayla) Honkomp, all of Dyersville; Grandmother, Germaine Deutmeyer and Step-Grandmother Bernice Steffen-Honkomp, both of Dyersville; aunts and uncles: Marian (Bill) Tauke of Earlville; Alice (Paul) Greenwood of Epworth, Joyce (Mark) Wessels, Jan (Terry) Goedken and Cathy Ann Deutmeyer, all of Dyersville, Paul (Jean) Deutmeyer of Worthington, Charlie (Carrie) Deutmeyer of New Vienna, and Steve (Cheri) Deutmeyer of Eldora, Ron (Linda) Honkomp, Shirley (Pat) Pirc, Jan (Tim) Gansemer all of Dyersville, Lou Ann (Gordon) Helle of Elkader, Joyce (Pat) McCue of Shakopee, MN, Margie (Murray) Nelson of Waukee, and Mary Lee (Stan) McWilliams of Sioux Falls, SD; a multitude of cousins and several great aunts and great uncles.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents Gilbert and Helen Honkomp and Roger Deutmeyer, and a cousin, Joe Greenwood.
Memorials are preferred.
