WORTHINGTON, IOWA

 

Victoria R. Sauser, 60 of Worthington, Iowa passed away peacefully surrounded by love on Monday, November 27, 2023, at her home.

 

Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5th, 2023, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville.  Directly following the visitation, a Celebration of Life service will commence at 7 p.m. at Kramer Funeral Home.

 

Vickie was born on February 13, 1963, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Lawrence and Shirley (Finn) Oglesby.  She married William Sauser on July 20, 1990, in Dubuque, Iowa. She grew up in Dubuque, Iowa and graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1981.

 

She was employed at Dyersville Die Cast/Scale Models for 34 years, where she enjoyed the people and made many friends. Vickie had a love for the game of pool for many years, where she has been a member of the Delaware County Women’s Pool League and developed a love for the game of cornhole over the last several years where she was a member of Driftless Cornhole League. She took particular pride in winning the annual Sauser July 3rd cornhole tournament every year.

 

She loved to spend summers camping at Baileys Ford and enjoyed the Saturday cookouts. She loved having the whole family together at these events and watching the grandchildren play and grow. In July, she always looked forward to vacationing in the mountains of Wyoming and Montana; she had a particular love for Yellowstone National Park. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching her Ghost Hunters and murder mystery shows on tv as well as spooky scary movie nights with her daughters. She had a love of collecting elephants.

 

Survivors include her husband, Bill; children: Jessica Pitz of Dubuque, Bradley (Ashlee Pennekamp) Sauser of Worthington, Thomas “TJ” (Alyssa) Sauser of Dyersville, Shawna (Jake) Chapman of Sand Springs, Samantha (Cody Buss) Sauser of Earlville, William Jr. “Willy” Sauser of Dubuque; grandchildren: Jecca, Izak, Dreya, Faith, Blake, Freya, Grayson, Kevin, Elliot, Peytonn, Colton, Alex, Abbi, Bailee, Olivia; siblings: Kevin J. Oglesby of Dubuque, Larry J. (Mandy) Oglesby Jr. of Dubuque; in-laws: Kelly Fitzgibbons, Steve (Barb) Sauser, Margaret (Joe) Noonan, Anne Sutter, Allan (Doris) Sauser, Mary Jane (Dan) Driscoll, Ed (Joan) Sauser, Ray (Jane) Sauser, Joan Hawkins and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law; siblings: Deborah R. Cashman and Jackie S. Fitzgibbons; in-laws: Francis “Frank” Sauser, Joseph Sauser and Thomas Sauser.

 

The family would like to thank Hospice of Dubuque for making it possible for Vickie to spend her last moments at her home and also to Vickie’s very special friend, Penny Boeckenstedt.
