Dear Tom, children and extended family,
I found when I read that Joan had passed away, I did one of my "Oh my goodness sighs." I have not known Joan for a long time, but during the short time of friendship, I found her to be a remarkably kind and generous woman. We actually met on a bus trip and our friendship bloomed from that moment on. She became such a gracious giver to our toy project by donating all the little soaps etc from their travels along with clothing and many other items to help those in need. She and Tom gave me numerous rides home from church in addition to taking me to work at the Kennedy Library over the years. When Almighty God came with open arms to take your wife, mother, and friend to many to her eternal resting place, she happily accepted His invitation because she knew the faith that was paramount in her life had led her to this point. For those left to mourn her passing, we extend our sincere sympathy and prayers as you walk in the valley of darkness. Without a doubt, Joan is reaping the rewards of a life well lived.
