DYERSVILLE, IOWA

 

Anna M. Steffen, 86, of Dyersville, and formerly of Luxemburg passed away Saturday, September 21, 2019, surrounded by her family at home.

 

Visitation will be held from 2-8 pm Wednesday, September 25, 2019, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville.  Visitation will continue Thursday from 9-10 am at Kramer Funeral Home prior to funeral services.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 26, 2019, Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Luxemburg with burial in the church cemetery.  Rev. Noah Diehm will officiate and Deacon Roger Riesberg will be the Homilist.

 

Ann was born April 9, 1933, in Earlville, Iowa the daughter of John and Anna (Besler) Freiburger, Sr.  She married Ralph Steffen on October 6, 1953, in Earlville.  Together they farmed near Luxemburg until retiring in 1989.  Ann also owned and operated Ann’s Bridal Shop for over 40 years.  After she retired from the Bridal Shoppe her sewing continued as she made quilts for her family. She always will always be remembered for her laughter and her famous last words, “I love you more!”

 

She is survived by six daughters: Annie (Mike) Maiers of Holy Cross, Pam (Gary) Wessels of Dyersville, Bev (Ron) Ploessl of North Buena Vista, IA, Barbara (Steve) O’Brien of Dubuque, Betty (Mark) Brimeyer of Balltown, IA, and Judy (Nate Smith) Mensen of Waukee, IA; one son Larry (LuAnn) Steffen of Dubuque, IA; grandchildren: Chris (Ashley) Maiers, Ben (Amanda) Maiers, Jared (Tiffany Arneson) Wessels and Colten (Joleen Sanger) Wessels, Dan (Livy), Jeff (Holly Tegeler), Mitch (Emily Degenford), and Dusty (Rachael) Ploessl, Jason (Ardeth) Steffen, Adam (Jesse Smith) Steffen, Joseph (Kathleen) Steffen and Allison (Kaiden) Kuntz, Alan (Julie) Domeyer, Sean (Keri Neujahr) O’Brien, Molly, and Megan O’Brien, Brian Brimeyer, Andrea (Dan) West, and Kevin (Loren Thalacker) Brimeyer, Greg Mensen, Austin (Danielle Hanson) Mensen, Morgan, and Kyle (Emily) Mensen; great grandchildren: Connor, Brevin, Griffin, Micah and Ilsa Maiers, Jameson Wessels, Becca, Bryce, Danielle, Paisley, Jax, Archie, Keaton and Cassutt Ploessl, Drake, Kaden, Skyla, Lela and Margo Steffen, Lily and Joey Domeyer, Annabelle, Jackson and Maxton West; sisters-in-law, Joan Esch of Dyersville, Alice Freiburger of Delhi and Eileen Grutz of Manchester.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ralph in 2010, 2 sons: Joey & Karle Steffen, a granddaughter, Emily Brimeyer, a great granddaughter, Alonna Steffen; siblings: Earl Freiburger, Bill (Irene) Freiburger, John (Helen) Freiberger, Vince (Leona) and Carl Freiburger, Grace Freiburger, Eva Mae Weigel; in-laws: Phil Wiegel, Jim Esch, Germaine (Norb) Wilwert, Lawrence Steffen, Leo (Monica) Steffen, Ray (Fran) Steffen, Artie (Esther) Steffen, Rich (Nellie) Steffen, Marie Goebel-Winter (Larry Goebel and Emmett Winter) and Virgie (Irvin) Singsank.

 

Memorials are preferred.
