Obituary of Germaine Elizabeth Gaul

Germaine E. (Clemen) Gaul, 86, of Holy Cross, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, April 27, 2016.
Visitation will be held 2-8 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2016, at Kramer Funeral Home, Holy Cross. Visitation will continue Saturday from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. at Kramer Funeral Home prior to funeral services.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2016, in Holy Cross Catholic Church, Holy Cross, with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Noah Diehm will officiate.
Germaine was born June 20, 1929 in Holy Cross the daughter of Alphonse and Armella (Schieltz) Clemen. She married Marvin Gaul on December 30, 1952 in Holy Cross. Germaine was a woman of strong faith. She and Marvin enjoyed dancing and putting jigsaw puzzles together. She was a kind woman who always put others first. Germaine enjoyed gardening, birdwatching and cooking for her family. Germaine loved holding all children. She enjoyed traveling. She was a member of the Holy Cross Rosary Society and Catholic Order of Foresters.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Marvin, 6 children: Gary (Carla) Gaul of Dyersville, Randy (Jean) Gaul of Farley, Nancy Klostermann of Dubuque, Brian (Carol) Gaul, Loren (Amy) Gaul both of Holy Cross, Dean (Karen) Gaul of Epworth, 19 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, siblings: Jerome (Patricia) Clemen of Holy Cross, Loras (Darlene) Clemen of Dubuque, Janice (Willis) Wagner of Holy Cross, Cathy (Don) Keppler of Manchester, Dale (Carol) Clemen of Dubuque, Francis (Linda) Clemen of Colesburg, in-laws: Gerald (Joan) Gaul of Farley, Eldon (Helen) Gaul of Dyersville, Virgil (Helen) Gaul of Dubuque, Eileen (Richard) Hermsen of Luxemburg, Lawrence (Delores) Gaul of Epworth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law, Jim Klostermann, brother, Vernon Clemen, parents-in-law, Alphonse and Regina Gaul, in-laws: Leander Gaul in infancy, Laura and Ralph Meyer.
