Lucille is survived by a son, Donald (Ginny) Ricken of Rockford, IL; 4 daughters: Sr. Doris Recker, OSF, of Midlothian, IL, Edith (Dave) Risley of Campbell, MO, Phyllis (Ron) Burget of Ankeny, IA and Ellen (Brian) Desbiens of Omemee, Ontario, Canada; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and a sister, Dorothy Laban, of Worthington, IA. She was preceded in death by her husbands; 3 sisters: Anita Gibbons, Bernice Schumacher and Lillian McCoy, and a brother, Russell Soppe. Lucille was born April 27, 1910, in Dyersville, IA the daughter of Fred and Mary (Steger) Soppe. On February 11, 1936, she married Joseph J. Ricken and they farmed in the Ryan, IA area until he preceded her in death on October 10, 1947. On June 14, 1954, she married Clarence B. Recker and they continued farming north of Dyersville, IA until they moved to town in November of 1970. She and Clarence began a career of volunteerism for which she earned the Governor's Award, logging over 11,000 hours at the Dyersville Community Hospital and Oak Crest Manor Nursing Home. Clarence preceded her in death on August 7, 1993. She moved to Rockford, IL near her family shortly thereafter. A memorial fund has been established and memorials are preferred.
