Obituary of Wendy Hearn

Wendy Hearn age 46 of Monticello passed away on Monday September 15, 2003 at the Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids after a courageous battle with cancer. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at the Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello. Memorial Services will be held on Friday Sept. 19, 2003 at 1 p.m. from St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Monticello. Rev. Charles Johnson will officiate the services. Private burial will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the 6th grade memorial fund at the Anamosa Middle School or to St. Matthews Lutheran Church. According to her wishes her body has been cremated. Wendy was born on February 24, 1957, at the John McDonald Hospital in Monticello she was the daughter of Gilbert & Lois (Caspers) Hearn. She taught 6th grade at the Anamosa Middle School. She graduated from Monticello High School in 1975 and then went on to U.N.I and graduated with her teaching degree. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Matthews Lutheran Church and was a member. She loved her students, Middle School social group. She served on the Great Jones County Fair Board, which she enjoyed. She enjoyed her dogs, and enjoyed hosting family and friends events at her home, and was an avid sports fan. Her parents Gilbert & Lois of Monticello, and her special companion Dave Sands of Monticello and her dog Calli Ann survive her, also a host of family and friends Her grandparents preceded her in death.
