Survivors include his wife, Isabelle; one daughter, Mary Ann Stock of Waterloo, IA; two sons, William (Bonnie) Steines of Dubuque, IA and Roger (Bernadine) Steines of Merrimack, NH; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Elverda Engling and Melinda Kunkel, both of Dubuque, IA; 1 brother, LeRoy (Betty) Steines of Dubuque, IA; 2 sisters-in-law, Agnes Steines of Dubuque, IA and Edith Mae Steines of Keokuk, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Fulton Stock; 3 brothers, Henry, Jr., Herman and Sylvester Steines; 2 brothers-in-law, Hubert Engling and Duane Kunkel. Lawrence was born on December 22, 1925, in Springbrook, Iowa, the son of Henry and Catherine (Heiar) Steines. He married Isabelle Klein on September 28, 1949 in Balltown, Iowa. He was employed for 38 years at what is now the Alter Company in Dubuque. The family wishes to thank Dr. Manzel, Dr.Ott, Jr., Dr. Payne and their staff, and Hospice for their wonderful care.
