Survivors include his wife, Norma; 2 sons: Steve (Mary) of Peosta, IA and Pat (Joan) of Dyersville, IA; 4 daughters: Linda Fangmann, Becky (Don) Maiers and Bev (Dan) Clemen, all of Dyersville, IA; Sharon (Chris) Klaren of Waterloo, IA; 2 step-sons: David (Jill) Platz of Broomfield, CO and Dr. William Platz of Lexington, KY; 2 step-daughters: Diane (Dan) Lassiter of Manchester, GA and Julie (Chad) Holt of West Des Moines, IA; 19 grandchildren; 7great-grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren;1 brother: William (Rosie) Deppe of Manchester, IA; 5 sisters: Adella (Donald) Helle of Dyersville, IA, Bertha (George) Klas of New Vienna, IA, Gladys Schemmel of Monticello, IA, Hilda (Melvin) Reittinger and Sr. Agnes Ann (Julitta) Deppe, O.S.F., both of Dubuque, IA Lawrence was born on April 20, 1928, in Petersburg, Iowa, the son of Clem and Frances (Weber) Deppe. He married Helen Wedewer on December 27, 1949, in New Vienna, Iowa. She preceded him in death on November 9, 1987. He farmed in the Petersburg area until retirement in 1989. Lawrence and Norma Tegeler Platz were married on July 5, 1996, in Dyersville. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1734 and of the 4th Degree Dubourg Assembly. He enjoyed his daily card playing, relaxing on his deck and spending time with his family.
