Ethel Elizabeth Pins, 97, of Petersburg and Earlville died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016, at Oak Crest Manor in Dyersville. Friends may call from 2 - 8 p.m. Tues., Nov. 1, 2016, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville where a Rosary will be recited at 2 pm, the Dyersville Fire Department will attend at 6 pm and a Vigil Service will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016, from 9 – 10:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Earlville where a Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rev. Herbert Pins will officiate and Rev. Dennis Quint will concelebrate. Ethel was born Aug. 26, 1919, in Petersburg the daughter of Hubert and Rosalia (Kramer) Geistkemper. She married Jerome Benjamin Pins on Oct. 22, 1940, in Petersburg. Together they farmed and raised their family in Delaware County. Survivors include her children: Rose Ann (Robert) Platz and Fr. Herbert Pins, both of Dyersville, Charles (Andrea) Pins of Charleston, SC, David Pins of Dubuque, Linda Luettjohann of Hiawatha and Michael (Nancy) Pins of Marshalltown; 19 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; siblings: Dorothy (Harold) Lake of Manchester, Alfred (Verna) Geistkemper of Savanna, IL, Joan Ament of Gilbertville, and Daniel (Sandra) Geistkemper of Dyersville; in-laws, Cyril (Doris) Pins, Eileen Pins and Shirley Pins, all of Dyersville, and Eldora Pins of Manchester. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jerome in 1994, a son-in-law, Dr. Donald Luettjohann, siblings: Margaret Geistkemper, Eleanor (John) Hoeger, Elmer (Evelyn) Geistkemper, Herman (Annetta) Geistkemper, Raymond (Mildred) Geistkemper Marie Geistkemper, and several in infancy; in-laws: Tom Ament, Vincent (Clara), Albert (Esther), James, Mark (Lorraine), Paul (Lois), Anthony (Lois), George and Louis Pins, Mary (Vincent) Goedken, Sr. Mary Ernest (Genevieve) Pins, OSF, Clara Pins and Theresa Pins. The family greatly appreciates the caregivers at the Ellen Kennedy Living Center, Oak Crest Manor and Hospice of Dubuque for the wonderful attention given to our mother.
